Opera Embedded Tweets

When my wife Kathryn performed in The Magic Flute at English National Opera this past fall, I took the opportunity to try out Twitter’s Embedded Timelines widgets. Twitter allows you to easily embed a timeline for Tweets from a user, a user’s favorites, Twitter lists, or any search query or hashtag. It’s incredibly easy to set up widgets in your profile’s Settings page. Then copy & paste a few lines of code in your site and you’re done.

I thought it would be a fun idea to create a page devoted specifically to see what the cast of The Magic Flute was up to on Twitter (provided they had an account, of course). 7 of the cast members, the conductor, the mascot ‘Boris the Bear,’ and the opera company itself were all on Twitter. Everyone involved with the production including zealous opera fans used the hashtag #ENOFlute to describe the experience.

Here’s what it looked like, and check out the live version (although the hashtag is no longer active since the production ended).
